WHO IS DOREEN SULLIVAN?
Her journey is a testament to resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
She is artistry in motion, a master product developer, and a visionary leader who redefines creativity at every turn. With an unparalleled blend of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, she stands out as a trailblazer in the world’s of product development, merchandisingwomen's leadership, and the cannabis industry.
An L.A. native, Sullivan dropped out of high school to join her father in set construction for the motion picture industry. She later went on to graduate from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Sullivan earned a B.A. in Theater and was a promising actor. After portraying a young saleswoman in an original play, Sullivan was approached about a job selling promotional products. After only a short stint in her new sales job, Sullivan recognized that the billion-dollar promotional products industry had more potential than her employer realized. Her entrepreneurial instincts kicked in, and Sullivan moved to New York City and founded her first company, Post No Bills in 1987 with just $5,000.
The company quickly evolved into a hybrid creative agency offering advertising, public relations, event management, marketing, packaging, and promotional products. One of Post No Bills' first major successes was the national promotional rollout for the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. This high-profile campaign propelled the company into the music industry, where Doreen's client list grew to include major record labels and artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Bruce Hornsby, Willie Nelson, Natalie Cole, and Britney Spears. Doreen was instrumental in igniting the national trend of fan clubs for recording artists, showcasing her ability to create a lasting impact in the industry.
Beyond the music industry, Doreen's innovative approach attracted high-profile clients like DreamWorks, Disney, ESPN, and the U.S. Olympic Committee. Her ability to deliver creative, effective campaigns established Post No Bills as a leader in the field. Doreen's success extended to organizing high-profile events, including five Super Bowl parties for ESPN, further solidifying her reputation as a master of creative strategy and execution.
In 2015, Doreen's journey took a new turn with the founding of My Bud Vase™. This venture was born out of necessity and innovation. Living in a prohibition state as a single mother of two, Doreen cleverly disguised her bong among her flower vases, sparking the idea of creating beautiful, discreet vases for cannabis consumption. With her background in product development and marketing, Doreen invested in herself and launched My Bud Vase™. The company quickly gained traction, generating over $3.5 million in sales and earning international attention. My Bud Vase™ has become a favorite among celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, and Miley Cyrus, and has been featured in prestigious publications such as Forbes, Newsweek, and Viceland.
Doreen's entrepreneurial spirit and innovative approach have led to decades of incredible collaborations and successes. Her ability to identify market trends and create unique, impactful products has made her a sought-after consultant in both the cannabis space and product development and merchandising. A significant milestone in her career was securing a $4 million sponsorship deal with Maker's Mark for the band Seven Nations, which to date is the largest deal ever secured in this context. This landmark achievement highlights her extraordinary talent in fundraising and partnerships.
Doreen is known by many and loved by everyone. She personifies generosity of spirit, bringing fun, goofiness, and an abundance of love into everything she does. While she calls Las Vegas home these days, her favorite place in the world is her ocean-facing condo on Folly Beach in South Carolina. Above all else, family is the most important thing to Doreen, which includes her two beautiful children and her beloved dog, Chase, whom she adopted from a rescue shelter. The synchronicity of finding Chase, who already had the name suggested by her best friend, felt like a moment written in the stars.
Today, Doreen Sullivan is a trailblazing product developer, a passionate advocate for women's leadership, and a visionary cannabis industry leader. Through her work with My Bud Vase™ and Post No Bills, she champions women's voices and creates opportunities for growth and leadership.
